PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECTS
The projects presented here represent only a small fraction of Ajani Charles’ overall body of work, which spans numerous disciplines, industries, and international contexts.
Whether created in service of his many clients or developed as independent artistic inquiries, his photography-based projects reflect his goals, values, and creative expression.
A photographer since the age of twelve, photography remains one of Ajani’s most enduring and preferred mediums, even as his broader practice continues to expand across film, strategy, writing, and large-scale cultural initiatives.
Project TYO
Project TYO is a long-term documentary, archival, and public scholarship initiative dedicated to documenting, preserving, and interpreting the hip-hop culture, community, and history of the Greater Tokyo Area, which Ajani Charles began documenting in July 2025.
